বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতুর টাঙ্গাইল অংশে কুয়াশার সকালে পরপর কয়েকটি দুর্ঘটনায় নিহত ব্যক্তির সংখ্যা বেড়ে সাতজনে পৌঁছেছে । নিহতদের মধ্যে একজনের পরিচয় জানা গেছে, তিনি হলেন, ভূমিমন্ত্রীর ছেলে রানা শরীফ। বাকিদের পরিচয় জানা যায়নি।
মন্ত্রীর ছেলে শরীফ রানা (৩৫) কে টাঙ্গাইল মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে নেয়ার পর চিকিৎসকরা দেখে তাকে মৃত ঘোষণা করেন। শরীফ রানা পাবনা থেকে ঢাকা যাচ্ছিলেন ।
আহতদের মধ্যে চারজন সাংবাদিককর্মী ছিলেন , সময় টিভির সিরাজগঞ্জ প্রতিনিধি রিংকু কুণ্ডু, মাছরাঙা টিভির সিরাজগঞ্জ প্রতিনিধি রিফাত রহমান, চ্যানেল আই’র ক্যামেরাপারসন আশরাফ আলী, এবং চ্যানেল টোয়েন্টিফোরের ক্যামেরাপারসন নাজমুল ইসলাম । তাদের কে সিরাজগঞ্জ সদর হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে।
এদিকে আবার ফায়ার সার্ভিসের গাড়ির সঙ্গে পুলিশের গাড়ির সংঘর্ষ হয় । তারা যাচ্ছিলেন সিরাজগঞ্জ থেকে দুর্ঘটনাস্থলে উদ্ধারকাজের জন্য । ওই সংঘর্ষ এ তিন পুলিশ সদস্য ও ফায়ার সার্ভিসের চার সদস্য আহত হন।
যেভাবে দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটে
পাবনা থেকে ঢাকাগামী সরকার পরিবহনের যাত্রীবাহী একটি বাস সজোরে ধাক্কা দেয় গরুবাহী ট্রাকের পেছনে। পিছনে থাকা আসা ১০ থেকে ১৫ টি গাড়ি ওই জায়গায় এসে একটি আরেকটির সঙ্গে ধাক্কা খায়। এতে ঘটনাস্থলেই পাঁচজন নিহত ও ১২ জন আহত হন।
