২০০২ সালের ২৮শে সেপ্টেম্বর বলিউড অভিনেতা সালমান খানের গাড়ি মুম্বাইয়ের একটি ফুটপাতে কয়েকজন ঘুমন্ত মানুষের ওপর উঠে গেলে এতে একজন নিহত হন এবং আহত হন আরও চারজন। এই হত্যা মামলায় তাকে দোষী সাব্যস্ত করেছে ভারতের একটি আদালত।
সালমানের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ ছিল, তিনি মদ্যপান অবস্থায় গাড়ি চালাতে গিয়ে এই দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটায়। যদিও অভিযোগ অস্বীকার করে মিঃ খান বলেছিলেন ওই সময় তিনি গাড়ি চালাচ্ছিলেন না। তবে আজ আদালতে বিচারক বলেছেন সালমানের বিরুদ্ধে আনা অভিযোগগুলো প্রমাণিত হয়েছে।
বিচারক সালমানের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন, “আপনি গাড়ি চালাচ্ছিলেন এবং আপনার লাইসেন্স ছিলনা”। এ সময় বিচারক তার কিছু বলার আছে কি-না জানতে চাইলে তিনি নীরব থাকেন।
